On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, the president of the Foundation presented a seminar at the 52nd General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America in which he considered Bible passages about, or commonly understood to be about, wealth and giving. He gave special attention to Moses’ description of the purpose and danger of wealth (Deuteronomy 8), Christ’s injunction to lay up treasures in heaven (Matthew 6), the Parable of the Talents and the Parable of the Sower (Matthew 25 and 13), and Paul’s description of the grace of giving and sowing and reaping (II Corinthians 8 and 9). Issues addressed included the purposes and power of wealth and giving, man’s ownership or stewardship of what God has given to him, and the relation of giving to the Gospel of Grace and our eternal state. The seminar concluded with a brief practical consideration of how to steward not one’s wealth but one’s giving.
