The PCA Foundation is pleased to welcome Sheldon Nordhues as a Giving Strategist. In this role, Nordhues will help advise donors on how to make tax-efficient gifts that enable them to give more to support their favorite ministries and charitable organizations. He will serve churches also by making presentations on a theology of giving and educating congregants on complex gifts.
An experienced fundraiser and financial advisor, Nordhues brings a blend of corporate and non-profit experience to this role. Most recently he served as director of development at Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta, where he played a key role in launching the Nashville extension campus and in developing a long-term funding strategy to grow the institution.
Nordhues’ corporate experience includes employment at Bank of the West, where he acted as an investment officer, facilitating investments for medium and high-net-worth clients. While there, he developed a new approach that enabled growth in overall profitability through maximized customer relationships. Nordhues holds a bachelor’s in business leadership and is working towards his Master of Arts in Religion at Westminster Theological Seminary.
“My life mission statement is to ‘Help God’s people give God’s resources to God’s missions,’” said Nordhues. “I want to see the body of Christ being radically generous to support the work that the Lord is doing in many areas of the world. Whether the local PCA church plant or the work of organizations like MTW, I want to encourage strategic, generous giving through complex giving strategies. I cannot think of a better place to do that than the PCA Foundation.”
According to Tim Townsend, president of the PCA Foundation, “Sheldon shares our vision and passion to serve God’s people as a ministry of the church. His track record of assisting investors and donors with their decisions is difficult to find, as is his sound theological orientation. We are excited to have him join our team.”
